"Can I say what a great performance your band gave on the night, it was by far the best I have seen at the festival and the feedback from everyone there was exellent, they have not stopped talking about it and whenever someone mentions the event Feckless is the first thing discussed before anything else, so thank you very much for helping to make the night a great success.
That said, I would like to ask if you would play again at next years event, the date of Saturday October 27th. 2012"
Emsworth Sailing Club 15th Oct 2011
After a night described by one dancer as "I won't sleep for hours after that I feel so alive!!"
Feckless and Champion Irish dancer Sarah had all the seadogs and sea girls!! dancing till they dropped!
Dave on washboard swept them away with his thimbles and when we told them they could join in they took over!! A fantastic night's fun with all ages dancing.
Thankyou Emsworth we look forward to a return soon.
Feckless were cooking at The Artichoke
Devizes Wiltshire 9th/10th Sept
Feckless were invited to come and stay the weekend in a pub in Devizes called the Artichoke!! Dave and Ali were so in love....with the Feckers they let us stay all weekend free as long as we played music morning noon and night. Well that's what we did and the locals welcomed us with open arms, tambourines, drums and a broken fingernail (sorry Heli!) We will certainly be back next summer for Devizes Festival in August.

3rd June Wedding Alverbank Hotel Lee-on-Solent
Hi Martin
A huge thank you to you and the band for the excellent job you did playing at our wedding reception on June 3rd 2011. Many of our guests commented on how great our band sounded and indeed you did not disappoint and certainly got us all up dancing! It was so wonderful to see all age groups joining in!
Throughout all our communications we have found you personable and accommodating. On our big day you really added to the spirit and sense of occasion. Your caller's lovely manner made others feel encouraged to get up and have a go, the music was both lively and captivating and the young lady who kindly gave up her evening to show us her Irish dance skills was amazing! Feckless you certainly exceeded our hopes and have given us some great memories which we'll never forget.
Indeed what a talent! and what a find for us! we shall not hesitate to recommend you or book you again in the future.
With thanks,
Karen and Martin

Feckless at Wicker Man Festival for the Beltaine Celebrations Butser Ancient Farm
The fabulous Feckless played to 2000 revellers at the Beltaine Wicker Man burning! Druids, Egyptian Belly Dancers, Mummers, Goths, Celts, Morris Men & Women, The 3 Graces and loads of kids jumped, danced cavorted and graced about to Beggarman, ADHD and then went completely silent for Janelle singing She moved through the fair.......it was awesome. Then Fergus asked us to lead the procession to burn the Wicker Man. Off we went banging drums and tambourines, danced round the Wicker Man three times. Then a girl and her dad who's won the raffle lit the 30ft monster man. I was glad they forgot to put my accordion in because I need it for Lughnasa on 31st July!!!
Feckless return to Shenanigans Irish Cafe Southsea
Paddy's Night and the bar packed to the gills at 6pm! Anticipation high and all tickets sold. Beautiful bouncer on the door turning people away! Feckless jammed into the back of the bar playing some furious music. The crowd go crazy dancing and jiving. Green shoes, yellow shirts and pints of Guinness flying. Janelle taking off like a Bugatti Veyron on the fiddle, Tony machine gunning the crowd with Beggar Man. Martin's arm blurry on the guitar and roaring like a Cornishman! Roly shaking the foundations with Drunken Sailor and Barnfecker ADHDing on the box. Even Maggie, Ed and Chris were singing their hearts out! Thankyou Shenanigans for inviting us back. Hope we see you again soon
Dave Heys goodbye to civvy street started quietly enough with a nice game of pool with his mates. Little did he know that a few grim lookin' characters carrying in sound equipment would end in him singing along with Feckless and the whole pub shouting for encores from the band and in particular Janelle. Landlady said "I never knew anything like this before....the whole place quiet and her beautiful voice. It was like having an angel before us!" One minute it was stompin' next minute it was everyone singing along and Dave Heys with tears rolling down his cheeks each time Janelle sang. What a night! Thankyou Strand Bar.

It was only meant to be a quiet session in a new pub Shenanigans but turned into a full on gig. A great night with the whole pub singing along to all the songs. Tony asked for a bit of quiet to let Janelle's quiet voice be heard as we had no PA. You could hear a pin drop while she sang but then after Janelle sang House Carpenter the roof was lifted off with the cheering when she'd finished. The landlady said they were really looking forward to Paddy's Night. So are we. Thank you to a fantastic crowd what a night.

The band have been back in Lee-on-Solent!
They came for a birthday party, Kim has celebrated an important date with her friends and had a great time.
It was a marvelous night, made special by having the band to play. The guests came from far and wide and also members of St Faiths, all enjoyed the music and by the end were up on their feet and dancing, if only we could have gone on longer!
Thanks for making the night one to remember
There was a great crowd at the bandstand on Sunday. And amazingly enough the sun shone! Some great fecktunes were played, but we were missing the dulcet tones of Tone. Come back Tony, all is forgiven! Even your habit of using a can of Carlsberg as a drum...
See you again soon Feckfans! And thanks Steve for the pictures... the full set of bandstand pics can be viewed at http://www.liveinportsmouth.com/galleries/thumbnails.php?album=232
Nick
Thanks to the crowd in Basingstoke for making it such good craic. 2 days on and still feeling the effects of the Guinness... Hope we will see some of you at the Portsmouth Bandstand on 13th July (weather permitting!).
We all had a great time at the Beach House in West Wittering last night. Thanks to all the staff there for making us feel so welcome and making sure we were plied with food and booze all night!
The crowd were great - some people were filming so hopefully there will be footage of some dancing up on the website in the next few weeks. Also if you were singing or playing the spoons you will go down in history because we recorded this gig so we can add some live material to the forthcoming album.
Bye for now!
Feckless
The Paddy's gig (14th March) is now at the Bun Penny in Lee-on-Solent, and entry is free. See you there!
2007 ended with characteristic fecklessness in the good ole Tap. 2008 brings many questions...
Will Feckless every get around to recording that difficult second album?
Will Tony come up with some new between-song jokes for 2008, or just continue with the same ones that have held us in good stead since 2003?
Will Charlee ever deign to play with the band again now she is a young folk musician of the year finalist?
Will Bernard ever get to a gig on time?
Who knows, but one thing's for certain, there will be some good tunes and some good laughs along the way. Happy New Year Feckfans!
Great party the other night in Tadley, with music provided by the Feckless spin-off group aka LessFeckless. It's great when the crowd links hands and does silly Feckdances without us even suggesting it! We should have some photos up on the gig photo page soon. Bigup to Fiona, Lynne, Donna, Phil and Aga the Tadley Pole.
Thanks to all those who came to the gig at the Mischief. Exiled once again in North End. Martin was especially chuffed to be asked to sign a CD in celebrity style. He has since taken to wearing dark glasses everywhere, and trying to jump the queue at nightclubs by asking "Do you know who I am?".
Apologies to those people who emailed the band a couple of weeks ago and didn't get a reply. It's taken until now to sort through all the adverts for Viagra and fake university degrees in our inbox. On the plus side, Bernard has bought 3 packets of Viagra, and Roland (or Doctor Eden as he is now known) has bought a PhD.
Check out the clip of Feckless on stage at the Wickham Festival. Fortunately the camera is far enough away not to pick up Tony's 1st degree sunburn! Visit the 'Films' page to see the footage.
Maximum respect to Stratfest organiser and chef extraordinaire Jake Prior! We had a great time dancing in the barn and jamming in the Yurt.
And a top jam at the Sterts folk club...
Cornwall rocks!
Check out pictures from all the above on the 'Gig photos' page.
Classic gig at the Tap on Friday. The last ever gig in a smoky British pub. The crowd were full of energy as usual (and full of booze, also as usual!). Many thanks to Joe who stepped in on guitar and delivered some superb feck-backing. See you at the next gig, feckfans!
What a storming gig on Friday night! That's the most fun I've had in ages!!! Everyone was on top form, and playing some seriously good music, mixed to perfection by John the Hat with his new tweeters! The new material went down a treat (and no one seemed to notice the wrong notes). A great bit of singing from Sarah, and Dave's washboard got the crowd jigging. And he managed to clean our smalls at the same time! Can't wait for the run of summer gigs coming up in June/July before we have the Feckless summer holiday when Bernard disappears to Ireland for a month on a Guinness tasting research trip.
Nickerfecker
The crowd were mad for it at the sports club... so many dancers, all trying to compete with Tony's crazy Irish jigging!
Last night was the 4th anniversary of the first ever Feckless gig. Four years on the road, and we still can't play all the right notes!!!
The sponsors went a bit heavy on the advertising - pretty much everything except the toilet paper had a Guinness logo on it!
If you were at the gig, please send any good photos you have so I can put them up on the website. Or leave us a message telling us what you thought of the gig - we appreciate your feedback (much more than we appreciate the feedback from John the Hat's speakers!).
Nick
Due to wondrous advances in interweb technology we are now able to show movies of Feckless. Okay, so the picture is barely visible and the music sounds like it's travelling from one yoghurt pot to another down a piece of string, but it's a start! Visit the 'Film' page to see a clip of the New Year gig.
Brilliant gig at the Contented Pig last night - the atmosphere was electric! Look out for Feckless back at the Pig in early 2007.
What a great audience at Park Place today - check out the pictures in the Feck-gallery. I think that's the first time there's been a dancing nun at a Feckless gig! And thanks to Dave 'Ofsted' Allaway who joined us on drums.
Nick
The feck-festive Christmas gig on 23rd Dec has moved from the Tap in North End, to the Contented Pig, Fratton. See you there!
There was an amazing news story in the Portsmouth News today... No, not the front page article "Thousands of bananas wrecked after fire"... I'm talking about the results of the Guide Awards!!
Thanks to all your votes, Feckless have made it through to the final six bands shortlisted in the Guide Awards! We have been invited to attend the glittering awards ceremony on November 13th, where they will announce the winner. May the best band win! Or Feckless!!
Do you have any good photos from Feckless gigs? If so, send them to info@fecklessmusic.com! There will be a prize for the best picture...
Feckless have been nominated for Best Folk/Roots Act in the Portsmouth News Guide Awards. Vote now, at www.thenews.co.uk
Feckless will be playing at the Contented Pig, North End, Portsmouth, from 8.30pm on Friday 24th November.
